TransBordados

This work is born out of the finding of a slide archive of my father. In 1960 he constructed a 80 foot, 2 mast Schooner with which he made uncountable voyages on the Pacific Ocean.

TransBordados is a work that explores the multiplicity of the image in the lecture of an archive. In the beginning of 2007 I started to directly intervene the slides my father took from his ship by perforating, joining, embroidering, scratching and or painting on them.

The pieces in TransBordados are diferent dimentions of the slides interventions, some of them are presented as objects themselves in light boxes, others are transferred to digital impressions on photographic paper and canvas and in turn are embroidered, painted and sewn with appliqués, as well there is a piece woven in wool.
